The contacts, networking and position assignments you attain will fulfill your desires of personal accomplishment and recognition. Hospitality and Tourism (HT) professionals belong to a unique group and welcome new professionals to the industry with enthusiasm. They are aware of the challenges and welcome the opportunity of mentoring and guiding new members to success.

The HT program at Western Carolina University (WCU) has been tailored to assist you to reach your goals. Professors will call you by name and treat you as an individual; they will have a genuine interest in your personal success as a student as you strive to reach graduation. Professors will share their personal industry experiences and emphasize the important concepts and practices in the hospitality and tourism industry to help you understand and apply the course material. Courses are varied, experiential, and filled with hands-on problem solving.

Students are provided opportunities to work within the field and to assist and consult with actual hospitality businesses to achieve success. Through field trips, guest lectures, industry conferences, trade shows and expositions, you will meet renowned industry professionals and witness their successes.

Students in the HT program at WCU complete the business core along with all other business majors and a concentration in the field of hospitality and tourism. Students graduate with a BS degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
