Education
Dr. Nixon received her Bachelor's degree from
Lenoir Ryne College
and her Juris Doctorate from North Carolina
Central School of Law
. She interned in the Office of General Counsel, US Department of Agriculture
and in the North Carolina Department of Justice, Attorney General's Office
of Consumer Protection. Since 1984, she has been an attorney and member of
the North Carolina Bar.
In April of 1996, she completed the Department of Defense (DoD) Advanced
Program Management Course (APMC) at Defense Systems Management College, Fort
Belvoir, Virginia. The APMC is the culmination of an intense twenty-week
effort and is the highest level of education for military and defense industry
program managers. In October 1996, she was designated a Certified Professional
Contract Manager (CPCM) by the National Contract Management Association and
in February 1997, she received her Project Manager Professional (PMP) from
the Project Management Institute (PMI).
