Mary Rose, a
much-beloved member of the Business Computer Information Systems Faculty at
Western Carolina University, passed away October 13, 2001 after a brief
illness. Although Mary had been at Western only three years, she had made a
major impact on faculty, staff, programs and especially on students. We will
all miss her.
Her husband Mike,
known and respected by many of Mary's students, has returned to Texas to be
near family.
Mike and the BCIS
faculty suggest that those wishing to memorialize Mary may do so by
contributing to the BCIS Technology Fund, a project that Mary was closely
involved in developing. The fund is used for a number of student- and
technology-related purposes, including providing funding for students to attend
national contests and for technology needs not supported by the state.
Checks may be made
payable to the Western Carolina University Development Foundation, with the
notation "BCIS Technology - Mary Rose" and sent to:
