About our University Western Carolina University occupies a unique position among colleges and universities today. Unlike many others, Western Carolina University remains a safe haven for educational quality with a personal touch. We are located in a picturesque valley in the Blue Ridge Mountains with a trout stream bubbling right alongside our main campus thoroughfare. Our campus is an environment that embraces nature, students, knowledge and learning, all within a 21st century technological framework linked to mainstream America. We retain the virtues of a safe, welcoming, wholesome campus life while also empowering our students through state-of-the-art educational facilities and national-caliber professors.
Center for Professional Selling: The opportunity and the challenge The state of North Carolina has approved a capital construction project in the form of a multimillion dollar, technology-focused facility on the campus of Western Carolina University. In addition to housing multiple functions pertaining to education and economic development for the region, this training center will address the need for national quality teaching, research and training in professional sales. The demand for technically skilled and capable salespeople is outstripping supply, yet few universities are responding to this opportunity. Western Carolina University's College of Business is poised to move to the forefront in professional selling with the development of our Center for Professional Selling. The purpose of this campaign is to furnish and equip the Center because funding for the project only covered the building, not the contents. We must rely on external support to help make the Center for Professional Selling a reality - help from supporters who understand that individual contribution is needed to complete projects seeded with public funds.
