CAT (Catamount Academic Tutoring) Center
The mission of Western's CAT Center is to promote the active and cooperative learning of all students by providing learning resources, skills workshops, and small-group tutoring sessions for 100- and 200-level courses. Trained peer tutors who have exhibited a mastery of the subject will be responsible for facilitating these sessions.
Students who utilize the CAT Center's programs will encounter a supportive environment in which all students work together to achieve academic success. Students will become members of a learning community in which everyone (including the tutors) learns collaboratively, and tutors will guide students in identifying learning strategies that are suited to their unique learning styles.
