Course-specific Services |
| |
| Here are a few ways that faculty from across the university have incorporated the CAT Center's services into their courses: |
| |
- Some instructors offer students the opportunity to retake a test if the students will agree to meet with a tutor to review and correct the original test.
- Introductory Chemistry faculty offer two points of extra credit for each tutoring session a student attends before an exam. Three sessions = six extra points!
- History instructors assist students with organizing study sessions for their courses. The instructors work with the CAT Center Director to identify a tutor, then poll the class to determine a convenient meeting time. Students can then convene once or twice a week for a tutor-facilitated study group.
- Political Science, USI, and Communication and Theater Arts instructors offer incentives for students who participate in CAT Center workshops.
- One Health Sciences faculty member incorporated the CAT Center workshops into her students' research activities for the Barriers to First-Year Student Wellness project.
- Chemistry tutors have collaborated with faculty to develop course-specific workshops on topics such as "How to Solve Chemistry Word Problems" or "Understanding Unit Conversions."
