Registration Information
Praxis II Exams are offered at Western six times per year, and Praxis I exams are offered on four of those dates. Praxis I Exams are also offered at computer-based testing centers across the country. To register for both Praxis I and Praxis II tests, visit www.ets.org/praxis. |

Reporting for Tests
If you are taking the pencil and paper Praxis I or the Praxis II, please report to the test site promptly at 7:30 am on the date of the test! Refer to the testing schedule for up-to-date reporting locations for each test administration. |

Praxis I |

The Praxis I, also referred to as PPST (Pre-Professional Skills Tests), includes academic skills tests in reading, writing and mathematics.
Praxis I Preparation Information
- Western's College of Education subscribes to PLATO, an on-line preparation program for the Praxis I. To access PLATO, visit www.ceap.wcu.edu/ppst.htm. Print out the instructions first! They contain important code and password information that you will need to get started in PLATO. Only 10 people can be logged into PLATO at once, so if you have trouble logging in, simply try again later.
- A limited number of Praxis I preparation books are also on reserve in Hunter Library and available for check out in the College of Education, Killian Room 219.
- The Reading Center provides limited preparation assistance for the Praxis I Reading exam. For more information, contact Dr. Barbara Bell.
- The University Writing Center provides free, one-on-one assistance to students preparing to take the Praxis I Writing exam. Visit the Writing Center website for more information.
- Study Guide Zone offers free, comprehensive study guides for a variety of undergraduate and graduate admissions exams.

Praxis II |

The Praxis II or Subject Assessments measure candidates' knowledge of the subjects they will teach, as well as general and subject-specific pedagogical skills and knowledge. To access "Tests at a Glance" for the Subject Assessments, visit the Praxis Web site at www.ets.org/praxis.
