The Black Theatre Ensemble is established as a performance and production arm of the Department of Communication, Theatre, and Dance of Western Carolina University. Its function is to provide live theatre entertainment based in and related directly to the black experience for students, faculty, and staff of Western Carolina University, and for residents and guests from the surrounding areas. BTE also provides educational benefits for those directly involved in a production and for members of the University community. BTE hereafter referred to as 'BTE' of the 'Ensemble', is a producer of selected live theatre presented on the WCU campus within the Department of Communication, Theatre, and Dance. We encourage anyone and everyone to take part in BTE and our productions.
