Bookstore Information
Unit Role and Mission
Statement
The WCU Bookstore is an on-campus retail store owned and operated
by Western Carolina University. The role of the Bookstore is
to provide necessary books, supplies, and other merchandise
to students, faculty, and staff as efficiently and economically
as possible.
The Bookstore includes the Book Rental Department for undergraduates
at Western Carolina University. The Book Rental Department
provides the main texts for undergraduate courses at a low
rental price, and gives the students the option of purchasing
textbooks if desired.
The Bookstore also sells and rents textbooks on the University
of North Carolina-Asheville campus for WCU's Asheville courses,
and provides books and supplies for outreach courses and Continuing
Education programs. The Bookstore reports directly to the
Auxiliary Services Division of the Administration and Finance
Department.
The WCU Bookstore's mission is to support the instructional
mission of the University by supplying textbooks and instructional
materials, supply students' needs for incidentals, memorabilia,
and reading matter. To conduct its operation in a cost efficient
manner that results in fair pricing while providing earnings
to support student financial aid.

Payments
The bookstore accepts cash, personal checks, Visa,
MasterCard, and the WCU CatCard. If paying by check, please
note the following points:
- Checks should be made payable to WCU Bookstore
- Your WCU identification card or driver's license must
be presented for validation on the check at the time of
purchase.
Financial Aid
You may charge against your financial aid moneys
the first 5-7 days of a semester using your WCU CatCard. If
charging against your financial aid, please note the following
points:
- You must have a credit balance available after tuition;
fees and fines have been deducted.
- You must have your WCU CatCard available at the time of
your purchase.
