We offer a comprehensive undergraduate education in Political Science, organized around the traditional subfields of political science: American politics, international relations, comparative politics, and political theory. In addition, we offer a variety of courses in public administration and public law. Many students also have an opportunity to work with the Public Policy Institute, a center affiliated with the department. In addition, the department sponsors the Student Association of Government and Legal Affairs (SAGLA), the Model United Nations, the College Democrats and the College Republicans.
If you have any questions about declaring a major in political science (or any other questions about the undergraduate program), please contact the department head, Niall Michelsen (michelsen@email.wcu.edu; 828-227-7475).
