Casie Forbes was named the Second Runner-up at the National MTNA Collegiate Brass Solo Competition in Los Angeles, CA on March 22. She felt that she played well and the judges commented on how high the level of playing was. This was the National and Final Round of three separate competitions which started with a state elimination this past October. The Southern Division Competition took place at the University of South Carolina in February and advanced Casie to perform in Los Angeles. This is a very prestigious honor when considering the number of talented and qualified students from music schools across the country who compete in this competition each year.
