Amanda Stephens graduated from WCU in 2003 with a BSEd in Social Science Education. Amanda was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow and she is currently teaching World History and AP History at "the Green Wave", i.e. Ashbrook High School, in Gastonia, North Carolina. In addition to her classroom duties, she also serves as the cheerleading coach for the school. She says that teaching high school is more work than she ever expected it to be, but the rewards of reaching out to students are immeasurable. Those who work or have worked with Amanda say that she is a natural teacher with great imagination and enthusiasm for her work. Even after only one year, she has earned some of the highest teacher evaluations in the school. |
