invite you to submit your work
for the
First Annual Creative Writing Residency
 
Gail Galloway Adams
Author of The Purchase of Order
will meet with selected writers of fiction to discuss their work
Monday, October 12.
Sessions to last about 30 minutes.

 
Criteria for Consideration

1. Any student at Western Carolina University is eligible to submit.
2. Fiction submissions should be between 3 and 20 pages in length.
3. Fiction should be typed and stapled. Submission should have a title, but your name should not appear anywhere on the story.
4. Type your name, contact info, and the title of your work on a separate Title Sheet.
5. Mail your submission and title sheet by U.S. or Campus Mail, Email, or Fax to

NOTE: Selection for this residency is an honor. Those chosen should note this fact on their resumes.

 

GAIL GALLOWAY ADAMS was named Teacher of the Year by the South Atlantic MLA. She teaches Fiction, Short Story Writing, and Creative Writing at West Virginia University. About her book, The Purchase of Order, Critics have written, "In the cadence of a Texas drawl or the whisper of a midday kiss, these stories capture untidy lives in which the pain of living is confounded with a grin. The Purchase of Order depicts characters from Germany to Georgia, men and women attempting to find meaning within memory, who take joy in giving of themselves."
