WCU
SUMMER IN GREAT BRITAIN
-
Spend eight weeks in the British Isles this summer.
Read literature in the places where it was inspired. Study
British history where it occurred. Earn six hours of college
credit.
-
Sign up for the following spring semester courses:
Engl 480 and History 493. These courses will focus upon the
locations to be visited in the summer--their historical and literary
significance--and provide you with a list of readings appropriate
to the adventure.
-
Then in the summer you will travel with Dr. Karl
Nicholas of the WCU English Department and Dr. Curtis Wood of the
WCU History Department. Under their guidance you will complete
your courses of instruction.
-
Most of your instruction will be experiential:
that is, you will read, explore, take notes, and discuss what you
have discovered. You will find that cities make great classrooms.
