The goals of the Motion Picture Studies Program
are to produce life-long learners
who:
- think critically, especially about visual texts
- communicate effectively, especially in writing and especially
about visual texts
- use and evaluate information appropriately and responsibly
- have developed a knowledge of American film and television
history, theory and culture, and explored its global contexts
- understand the discipline of Motion Picture Studies both as
a profession and as a field related to life-long learning
- appreciate the role of visual texts in everyday life
