Literature majors who want to supplement their education
in ideas with valuable career skills often choose internships.
Depending on your focus, you can intern on campus as a research
assistant, work in public relations, or edit the yearbook,
or off-campus at publishing houses, software companies,
non-profit organizations, or law offices, to name a few.
Past literature majors have
- created press releases and pamphlets
- worked with hospitals or nursing homes
- helped faculty prepare manuscripts
- written articles and designed layout
- written grants to help the Humane Society or the Jackson
County Family resource center
- written business plans to buy restaurants
