Internships and Co-ops

Literature majors who want to supplement their education in ideas with valuable career skills often choose internships. Depending on your focus, you can intern on campus as a research assistant, work in public relations, or edit the yearbook, or off-campus at publishing houses, software companies, non-profit organizations, or law offices, to name a few.

Past literature majors have

  • worked with hospitals or nursing homes
  • helped faculty prepare manuscripts
  • written articles and designed layout
  • written grants to help the Humane Society or the Jackson County Family resource center
  • written business plans to buy restaurants

and much more.
