University offices are open from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 to 5:00 p.m. (Eastern time), Monday through Friday, except on state, national, or university holidays, or in case of emergency (inclement weather conditions, etc).

All classes will meet at regularly scheduled times whenever the university is open unless an announcement to the contrary is made by an official source. For the latest information regarding weather-related closings, check the WCU homepage or WCU's weather page announcements.

The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Western Carolina University offers training in chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate level.  As of the spring semester 2006, we have 21 full-time faculty members, More than 85 undergraduate majors, 10 current graduate students, and 5 support and technical staff members.
We are located in the Natural Science-Stillwell  complex off Buzzards Roost Road and Memorial Drive, next to Hunter Library.
