PRINT + BOOK ARTS OVERVIEW Undergraduate students may take classes in printmaking and book arts as electives or as part of a concentration in the BA or BFA programs in StudioArt.* Students in printmaking learn both traditional and experimental processes as they develop personal imagery. Students in book arts explore the use of the book as an artist's medium, including methods for making books by hand, as well as concepts related to the book as a format for images and ideas. In addition to producing their studio work, students are expected to participate in critiques, and engage in reading and research to place their work within the context of both historical and contemporary practice. *Graduate students in the MAT, MAEd and MFA programs may take classes in printmaking and book arts by special arrangement |
