artist statement - Sarah Noble
Along with both spiritual and sensual intelligence & plasticity, I'm interested in the question of how to create a new image and how images resonate emotionally. At this time, I want to orchestrate beautiful yet ominous/ ominous yet innocent, quietly powerful two dimensional spaces with a mystery that brings a feeling of welling up inside like fear, excitement, joy or tears. The flit of a brush like a moth's flapping wing again and again over surface layering paint into air, life, fur and form fascinates me.
