Message From Tammy Haskett to Western Alumni and Friends

Western Carolina University is not only a place for students who want to make connections-both human and electronic-but also a place for WCU alumni and friends to connect both personally and electronically. I hope to begin that networking process with each of you as I begin in the position of Director of Alumni Affairs. Since WCU is taking a lead role in the nation in applying computer technology to education, we can also take the lead role in extending some of that technology to keep abreast of what our fellow classmates are doing. I hope to hear from you through this website, by phone, fax and by email as we begin this journey together. As alumni director, I look forward to coordinating a number of on and off campus activities including working with you in building our alumni chapters across North Carolina, the Southeast and beyond. My past experience here at WCU in the Office of Continuing Education and Summer School having grown the national Elderhostel program has given me the basis for how to begin an active alumni network. I encourage you to get involved in our alumni reunion groups, the Catamount Club, the Alumni Board and other advisory boards here in beautiful Cullowhee. Your support over the past years has been crucial in making a difference for future alums as the special place we know and love. Let's keep that tradition going as we promote WCU!
