Western Carolina Alumni Tower

The Alumni Tower Saturday, October 28, 1989, the Alumni Association dedicated the Alumni Tower as part of WCU's centennial-year homecoming events. The bells continue to ring out to faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of WCU. The Alumni Tower, standing 66 feet high, and located on the lawn of the Hinds University Center, was made possible by a $350,000 alumni fund-raising effort and was built by F.N. Thompson Construction Company of Charlotte. The tower has become the campus gathering place and stands as a legacy of the past but will continue to grow in meaning to all future WCU friends as a symbol of the alumni association's commitment to excellence in education.
