Highlights

Our mission is to introduce you to the resources and services available to you and your student, provide you with strategies for supporting the successful transition of your student to Western Carolina University and provide opportunities for you to partner with us for continued involvement.

Our parent sessions, which run concurrently with the student sessions, will address matters of particular interest to parents/guardians.  You will receive an overview of campus resources/services available to assist your student in being a successful member of our university community.  These will include financial aid, student health insurance, student wellness, residence hall living, dining services/meal plans, e-bills and student accounts to name a few of the essentials.

Representatives from our student affairs division will share vital information about the university/parent relationship and will discuss ways to maximize this partnership for student success.  This is another great opportunity for you to ask questions from people in the know.

Our student leaders will have an interactive session highlighting a variety of campus offices in which your student can get involved.  They will share tips for supporting your student while letting them go and help you come familiar with the multiple support services available to your student.

First-Year Families

You will attend sessions across a day and 1/2.  You will be able to stay on campus if you wish.
Cost:
$70 per person
$30 per person per night's stay

Transfer Families

Families have scheduled sessions through lunch only; while students will have optional activities/sessions until 5 pm.

$25 per person
