We look forward to you joining the Western Carolina University community this Fall. The Orientation program is designed to provide you with quality academic advising and to help you become familiar with university life and university services.
Please plan to arrive between 10:00 am and 11:00 am for Residence Hall check-in at the location indicated above. (Please check date list.) Orientation check at the Ramsey Center will begin at 10:30 am. Students and guests will check-in at Scott Hall first and then proceed to Ramsey for their name badges and other materials. All students and guests must check-in to their Residence Hall and arrive at the Ramsey Center by 11:30 am.
University Fees Due: Please be sure that your $150.00 tuition deposit and $150.00 housing deposit have been made. You will not be allowed to officially register for classes until the tuition deposit has been submitted. To make a Deposit, please visit the Banner Payment Portal.
Immunizations:
It is our goal at Orientation for students to leave with a class schedule for the
upcoming fall semester. In order to complete your class schedule you must have met
the immunization requirements as set forth by the NC Dept of Health and Human Services
for college students. Those requirements include:
3 TDap or combination of tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis
2 MMR or combination of measles, mumps and rubella
And
Hepatitis B Series (3 vaccines)

Student ID/access cards (CatCards): Students must email a digital photo to the CatCard Office (catcard@email.wcu.edu) or mail a hard copy photo to WCU CatCard Office, Killian Annex, Cullowhee, NC, 28723 one week prior to your scheduled orientation session so that you can pick up CatCards at check in.
Rafting: Rafting is the day before the scheduled Orientation session. Rafting students should plan to arrive on campus between 11 am and 12 pm. Directional signs will point to the hall listed above. Rafting students will be able to stow their gear and change into their rafting apparel. A Base Camp Cullowhee representative will pick rafters up between 12 and 1 pm. The group will arrive back on campus around 7 pm. (Rafting is for students only.)
Early Arrival: Students and guests that have opted for early arrival should plan to arrive on campus between 7 and 10 pm the day before the session. Directional signs will point to the hall listed above.
Reservations are required for Orientation. Register online as part of the CatWalk process. Confirmation of your registration will be sent to the email address you provide when you register.
Day Two of Orientation is slated to run till 3 pm.
