Who am I?
I’m a small-town guy who grew up in the antebellum town of Camden, S.C., famous for its carefully restored historic district. After high school, I proceeded to Clemson University to pursue a degree in computer science. After completing the degree, I realized that sitting in front of a computer all day was not my ideal job. Why? Because computers don’t talk back! I returned to Clemson to pursue a graduate degree in higher education administration so I could work with prospective college students and their parents—two groups who are much more interactive than a computer.

Why Western?
Mountains. An award-winning faculty. Doing something I love and getting paid for it. Why not? I attended grad school with some folks who had Western experiences; one of my classmates came here for his undergraduate degree and he always talked about how much he missed this place. Another had an older brother who attended Western; she never saw him because he loved it so much! So when I found out Western had an admission position open, I quickly applied and landed the job. Since then, I’ve discovered that my former classmates were right. This is truly a special place. And as someone who enjoys the mountains and working with college students, how could I ask for more?
