International Education Week presents opportunities to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
Are you passionate about global awareness?
What should one want the world to look like?
Ought it to be a world in which one sees beyond the borders, where understanding the hopes, dreams, cultures and concerns of other people is the norm; where global awareness, respect and competence allows people of all backgrounds to work together effectively; where the richness of diversity is embraced; and where knowledge grows through global interactions? Are not all (viz. students) obligated to prepare themselves to lead in a world where economies and cultures are intertwined? - and through innovative and comprehensive programs, students at WCU can be!
What then can WCU students accomplish on the global stage? The future of the world is in their hands.
The U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education collaborate to promote programs that prepare U.S. Americans for a global environment and to attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange their experiences in the U.S.A.
The Office of International Programs and Services (IPS) seeks to program activities during International Education Week in order to celebrate and to promote awareness of the multitude of international educational opportunities available to the WCU campus community. IPS also promotes the advantages of international competency that is dependent on quality education at the international level, which in turn, facilitates one to become a productive citizen in the increasingly global community.
IPS encourages the participation of all individuals interested in international education and exchange activities, including all WCU colleges, their departments and students, as well as local businesses, associations, and community organizations.
