In an effort to support faculty, student and staff international research and scholarly endeavors, Phi Beta Delta will offer $500 scholarships to one student or one faculty member each year.
Guidelines for Student Applications
Eligibility
Student applicants must be an active member of Phi Beta Delta and be currently enrolled
at Western Carolina University. Undergraduate students must have a current GPA of
3.0 (or higher); graduate students must have a current GPA of 3.5 (or higher). Recipients
must be willing to disseminate outcomes of the travel/educational/research experience
to the general university community.
How to Apply
Applicants must submit a brief, typed proposal (1-2 pages) and cover sheet to Phi Beta Delta Scholarship Committee, c/o International Programs & Services, 109
Camp Building by April 15. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Format for Proposal
In preparing your proposal, please address or provide the following four specific
areas of information:
- A description of the purposed activity, including dates, places, and contacts.
- The expected value of the experience to the applicant,
- How outcomes will be disseminated to the university community, and
- A brief budget for the activity.
Additional pertinent information may be included as appropriate for each proposal.

Eligibility
Any active Phi Beta Delta member is eligible. All recipients must agree to provide
a forum for disseminating outcomes of their proposal to the general academic community
(i.e., Brown Bag Luncheon Series, International Week Speaker, journal articles, newspaper
articles, etc.)
