At Western Carolina University, the K-12 International Outreach Program has been designed to service the eight westernmost counties in North Carolina.
The program provides international resources with which public school teachers from these counties can build, enhance, and reinforce their curriculum and also presents students a broader international perspective upon in which to reflect, dwell and engage.
Outreach Report
Since its inception at UNC-Chapel Hill, the K-12 International Outreach Program has benefited schools in 41 counties across North Carolina, and approximately 8,000 teachers and over 123,000 students have been served. (THE MAP STATISTICS HAVE NOT UPDATED SINCE 2003).
