Kevin Childers has worked with International Programs and Services (IPS) since November
2000, and currently serves as a student services specialist. Before his employment
with WCU, he worked for the Mitchell News Journal in Spruce Pine, NC. He studied
at Western Carolina University ('95-'99) and at Ruprecht-Karls Universität in Heidelberg,
Germany ('97-'98), as one of WCU's first three undergraduates to participate on the
UNC Excange Program to Baden-Württemberg, Germany. He graduated in 1999 with degrees
both in Communications (Public Relations) and German (Interests in Sturm und Drang Literature). Since 2006, Childers has taken up graduate studies in History (Modern
Europe) and Rhetoric.
