I joined the Coulter Faculty Commons (CFC) as its faculty research support specialist in February 2012. Prior to joining the CFC, I served as the deputy director of research at the Prisoner Reentry Institute, a research and policy institute housed at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, while completing a Ph.D. in criminal justice.
As the faculty research support specialist, I work with faculty and staff to support, facilitate, and enhance scholarship opportunities at WCU. I am available to assist faculty on a range of research-related issues including:
- the development of quantitative and qualitative research questions;
- the identification of appropriate research design, methods, and evaluation;
- the use of research software (SPSS, SAS, Qualtrics, ArcGIS, Atlas.ti, and others);and
- the identification of external funding opportunities.
In addition, I work in conjunction with faculty to cultivate opportunities for collaborative and peer-to-peer research support on campus. I am also responsible for identifying emerging research tools for faculty and works closely with CFC’s director, Dr. Laura Cruz, and campus stakeholders to help bring those tools to WCU.
