Good Old Time Summer Day Camp ..........................$110
Day camp / July 22-26, 2013
The Mountain Heritage Center, WCU Art Department, and Hunter Library are combining to offer a summer day camp for 2013 entitled the Good Old Time Camp. The program will focus on exploring the culture of the region by covering the heritage of southern Appalachia, Cherokee and the pioneer experience. The children will spend time investigating and creating crafts such as mask making, weaving, candle making, open-hearth cooking, and pottery. They will also listen to a local old-time musician and take a field trip to see local sites of natural and historic interest. The camp will culminate with a day of show and tell where the children will present their activities and creations to their families. The camp is sponsored in part by the Jackson County Arts Council.
 


Health Careers Summer Camp - Application Deadline is now passed.
Overnight camp / June 17-23, 2013 
The Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) and Western Carolina University (WCU) will host its 18th Annual Health Careers Summer Camp at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC the week of June 16-22, 2013. The camp is open to rising seventh and eighth grade students who have a potential interest in a future career in healthcare. The application deadline is Friday, March 15, 2013 at 5pm.

Basecamp Cullowhee and Continuing Education invites your son or daughter to experience the adventure of the outdoors this summer! Hiking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, and kayaking (or Duckies for 3-5th graders). New for the 6-8th grade group for 2013 -- CAVING!


Rocket to Creativity
Day camp / June 24 - 28, 2013
Launch a rocket to creativity this summer. The Rocket to Creativity Camp, formerly known as Cullowhee Creativity Camp, will be held in Killian Building on the campus of Western Carolina University Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Summer Symposium for the Marching Arts
High school students join the band directors of the WCU Pride of the Mountains Marching Band for a week of learning and fun. This camp fills quickly so register early. http://www.prideofthemountains.com/
