The Mountain Heritage Center, WCU Art Department, and Hunter Library are once again
combining to offer the Good Old Time Summer Day Camp.
This 5-day program will focus on exploring the culture of the region, covering the
heritage of southern Appalachia, Cherokee and the pioneer experience. Campers will
spend time investigating and creating crafts such as mask making, quilting, candle
making, open-hearth cooking, pottery and they'll also get to listen to a local old-time
musician. The camp will culminate with a day of show and tell where the children will
present their activities and creations to their families.
The camp is sponsored in part by the Jackson County Arts Council and is designed ages
9-13. Registration is limited to the first 14 paid campers.
The deadline for registration is July 5.
