How to Calculate Your GPA
 
Requirements to Remain in Good Standing

All students are required to maintain at least 3 Honors hours per term until they have the 24 Honors hours needed to graduate.**
  • First year students (1-29 semester hours) must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.1
  • Sophomores (30-59 semester hours) must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2
  • Juniors and Seniors must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher

*If a student’s GPA falls below the minimum, but later rises to meet the requirements, the student will be allowed to return to the Honors College upon request

**Beginning with the Freshman class entering WCU in Fall 2015, the cumulative GPA requirements to remain in good standing in The Honors College will increase to the following (this does NOT affect current students in The Honors College):

  • First year students (1-29 semester hours) must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3
  • Sophomores (30-59 semester hours) must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.4
  • Juniors and Seniors must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
