The Department of Modern Foreign Languages encourages you to fully engage in your study of a second language, either through active participation in student projects and department- and university-sponsored events such as WCU’s annual Foreign Language Contest for High School Students or Hispanic Heritage Month, or by taking advantage of WCU’s excellent Study Abroad opportunities or attending one of our film festivals.
* 3rd Annual Foreign Language T-Shirt Contest*
Winners will be selected the first week of October.
Contest is open only to students enrolled in any Modern Foreign Languages course. Unlike in previous years, designs should highlight foreign languages in a multicultural context, rather than focus on one specific language. Two designs will be chosen and the designer of each will win a free T-shirt and a $20 Amazon gift card. Monochrome and multicolored designs may be submitted electronically (.jpg) to email@example.com or handed in on 8.5”x11” paper to Melissa in McKee 118. Deadline for submissions - September 30th.
The contest is part of a promotion in connection with the upcoming International Education Week, November 17-21. Part of the goal of the event is to promote international understanding and build support for international education exchange by encouraging development of programs that prepare Americans to live and work in a global environment.
