The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Western Carolina University maintains computing facilities to satisfy a number of teaching, research, and administrative needs. These facilities supplement the computing facilities provided at the university level.
Departmental Computer Lab
The department funds and operates a computer lab in Stillwell 434, on the same floor
as the departmental office. The lab is equipped with x86-based computers running Microsoft
Windows XP and Linux.

The department also maintains a Linux server, polaris.cs.wcu.edu, which provides shell
and X-windows access for student and faculty work.
