Professor to address historians at NCCAT meeting
WCU history professor Gael Graham will be the keynote speaker Friday, March 22, as the North Carolina Association of Historians holds its annual meeting in Cullowhee.

Jessie Swigger, assistant professor in WCU’s Department of History, has been named a recipient of the North Carolina Museums Council’s Award of Special Recognition for her work in support of “Journey Stories."

Carving book wraps up Cherokee series
A new book by Anna Fariello of WCU’s Hunter Library takes a look at carvers who were active among the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in the early to mid-20th century.

World wars round table to hold Thursday meeting
David Dorondo, WCU associate professor of history, will deliver a presentation titled “Administering Terror: The Wannsee Conference” as the Carolina Round Table on the World Wars meets Thursday, Nov. 8.

‘Journey Stories’ programs to be held at WCU, Sylva
A series of free public programs being held in conjunction with the “Journey Stories” exhibit at WCU’s Mountain Heritage Center will continue over the coming weeks at the WCU museum and at the Jackson County Public Library in Sylva.

Western Carolina University’s Cherokee Language Program received a $199,540 grant to continue its efforts in developing and revising Cherokee language coursework.
