Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, or TESOL, is an increasingly demanding academic field. Its principles are similar to those in English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL).
In TESOL, instructors teach the English language to non-native speakers, regardless of their language backgrounds. Through an extensive period of training, WCU TESOL students learn the essentials of teaching English as a second language, along with strategies to help their students succeed. Students can use their work in TESOL in a variety of fields, and as a result, they gain both valuable knowledge and flexibility for employment.
