Class projects are a great opportunity to collaborate with your fellow students, faculty, and members of the greater community.

Sylva Recycling Program: In the spring of 2007 through the senior-level public relations class, Public Relations
Campaigns CMPR 460, a group of four students coordinated the public awareness campaign
portion of a campus-wide project aimed at increasing participation in a town of Sylva
recycling program. Students in Radio Production II created the ads that ran on area
radio stations.

“Young Cherokee” Project: In April 2006, WCU communication students videotaped the last scenes from the Theatre
in Education Company’s performance of “Young Cherokee” in the Department of Communication
television studios, concluding a year-long theatre initiative that captured attention
at national conferences and connected university students with the Cherokee people.
