Western Carolina University

The Western Carolina University-Cherokee Center was established in 1975 and is committed to serving tribal and non-tribal residents of Cherokee, N.C. and the surrounding communities. Hundreds of people who may not have received a college education have been able, with the Center's help, to begin their classes locally and move on to attend the Cullowhee campus. Many of these people hold leadership positions on and off the Boundary.

In today’s competitive market, career advancement requires more education. Western’s Cherokee Center can help students meet this requirement and prepare them to take advantage of new opportunities that come their way.

• Classes are conveniently scheduled in the evenings and located at the Center.
• Full credit is offered for required or elective courses in a variety of disciplines.
• Members of Western's world-class faculty lead classes in their areas of expertise.
• A wide range of advisement services is available free of charge either at the Center or on the main campus in Cullowhee.
