Dr. Williams received his bachelor's degree from Lake Erie College and his masters and doctorate from The Ohio State University. He has been at Western since 2003. Prior to coming to North Carolina he spent 23 years as a professor at the University of North Dakota. He is one of 63 board certified forensic anthropologists in North America. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and a member of DMORT (Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team). His experience as a forensic anthropologist is varied. Over the past three decades he has provided consultation and his expertise to law enforcement agencies across the nation. In his capacity with DMORT he has participated in mortuary operations at two air crashes and the World Trade Center terrorist attack. He specializes in bone trauma assessment with a special emphasis on saw cutmark analysis.
