In the fall of 2004, the Department of Anthropology and Sociology augmented its offering of academic programs by introducing its newest major, a degree in forensic anthropology. John Williams, one of only 55 board-certified forensic anthropologists in the United States, currently heads both the department and the forensic anthropology program.
