The several Newport RS2000 and RS4000 Optical Tables are designed for interferometry and high-resolution experiments. They combine a rigid trussed, honeycomb core with Newport’s highest level of tuned damping for extremely sensitive measurements requiring maximum vibration control. Their combined features include:

• Selectively eliminate torsional and bending table modes
• Individually tuned by trained vibration analysts
• Allow adjustable levels of damping
• Only effective damping for large table systems
• Produce secondary broadband damping at higher frequencies
• Damped work surface eliminates skin resonance
• Damped composite edge finish eliminates side wall resonance
• Constrained layer core damping attenuates broadband vibration modes
• Truss bridges honeycomb cell to increase the stiffness-to-weight ratio of the table
• Vertical bonding of core increases static rigidity
• Triple core interface increases point loading capability
