Master of Science in Technology (MST) Program

The Master of Science degree in Technology (MST) focuses upon the integration of technical knowledge and management skills necessary for the effective improvement and management of technology-intensive systems. This program develops technical and management skills by combing qualitative approaches and quantitative techniques in a balanced curriculum which strengthens engineering applications and develops technical and managerial competence.

The curriculum includes courses in statistics and design of experiments, professional writing, quality assurance, automated system, manufacturing research, and management. In addition, students have the opportunity to focus in specific technical areas though selected courses and applied research projects in their specialized fields.

  • Program Admission Requirements:
    • Overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (for assistantship consideration, a GPA of 3.5/4.0 is strongly recommended on all major courses taken at the undergraduate level).
    • GRE General Exam - a combined score of 1000 on verbal and quantitative, and a 3.5 on analytical writing is strongly recommended for assistantship consideration. The GRE requirement may be waived if the applicant: 1) possesses a minimum of three years U.S. work experience, 2) has an undergraduate overall GPA of 3.25/4.0, and 3) applies for a non-thesis option without graduate assistantship consideration

    • A duly completed application package including application forms, statement of purpose, transcripts, and three letters of recommendation from former professors or supervisors who can testify to the candidate's aptitude for graduate study.

    • For international students, a minimum score of 80 (Internet-based Test), 213 (Computer-based Test), or 550 (Paper-based Test) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
    • For international students, a document-by-document evaluation of undergraduate degree(s) must be submitted by the World Evaluation Services (WES) or equivalent evaluation services.

An undergraduate bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, industrial technology, or an approved technical field.
