Electrical EngineeringElectrical Engineering is a challenging and rewarding course of study.  It requires a love of math, strong study habits, the ability to visualize abstract concepts, and a willingness to explore new frontiers where you will learn to create new designs from first principles. In the EE program, you will find yourself among like-minded students in small classes with faculty who have a thorough knowledge of the topics they are teaching as well as practical experience in their fields.

Nearly a third of our EE students are members of the Honors College, which offers high-achieving students special housing, academic, leadership and social programs. The Honors College coordinates undergraduate research and pre-professional programs.

Curriculum and Course Descriptions

You will find curriculum and course descriptions in the WCU catalog for the academic year in which you are admitted. To ensure that you stay on track toward graduation, it is critically important for you to work with your faculty adviser. He or she can give you the most accurate information about the requirements of your degree program. Your adviser also can provide the ALT PIN you must have in order to register through My Cat for classes.

Senior Capstone Project

As part of the Kimmel School's focus on project-based learning, EE students are required to participate in a two-semester Senior Capstone Project. Working under the guidance of faculty and mentors, teams of two-to-four seniors tackle complex challenges proposed by project sponsors. The teams use a stage/gate process to set specific goals, deadlines and deliverables that culminate in fully tested products, concepts or new knowledge that project sponsors can use for practical purposes or develop further.
