Professor Cheryl Conway received in 1992 her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2010, she received her Master of Science in Nursing Administration degree from Western Carolina University, School of Nursing, Cullowhee, NC. Professor Conway worked at an area tertiary health care organization from 1992-2012 in areas including: nursing education, risk management, perianesthesia services, and general surgery. Her most recent experiences included serving as a nursing education specialist for clinical affiliations and a clinical ladder program as well as a project director for a HRSA Nursing Education and Practice Retention grant.
Professor Conway is married and is the mother of one daughter. She is currently on faculty as an assistant professor for Western Carolina University at Biltmore Park in Asheville, North Carolina. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International; North Carolina Organization of Nurse Leaders; the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing Alumni Foundation Executive Board; and other professional groups. Professor Conway teaches ACLS, BLS, and PALS. She also is a member of the Executive Board for My Sister's Place, Inc., a non-profit agency that supports education, counseling and services for domestic violence and sexual assault in Madison County, NC.
