Western Carolina University

Four awards will be made annually, two in the fall and two in the spring. For academic years 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 the awards will be $250 each. The amount of the awards in later years will depend on the interest earned by the fund. Recipients are eligible to receive the award for a total of two semesters by reapplying. Students may be enrolled either part-time or full-time.

Applications will be screened by the WCU School of Nursing Graduate Student Affairs Committee for the following criteria:

1.   GPA entering WCU is 3.00 or higher and is maintained at WCU
2.      Enrolled in or have completed the RN to BSN Introductory Block
3.      Will take at least one 6-hour RN to BSN Block during the semester(s) of the award
4.      Preference given to students without up-front employer tuition support
5.      Application received by March 30 (for fall) or November 30 (for spring)

The Graduate Student Affairs Committee will recommend the recipients of the award for each term.
