Course: Environmental Assessments for La Crosse Encephalitis Case Investigations

The Mosquito and Vector-Borne Infectious Disease Facility will offer this one day course for Registered Environmental Health Specialists. During this course, participants will receive training on the ecology, epidemiology, and regional burden of La Crosse Encephalitis. Hands-on activities include field exercises designed to simulate case investigations. Equipment and supplies will be provided. Course: Identification of Container-Inhabiting Mosquito Larvae Commonly Found in Western NC

The Mosquito and Vector-Borne Infectious Disease Facility will offer this one day course for Registered Environmental Health Specialists. The objective of this course is to improve the participants’ ability to identify container-inhabiting mosquito larvae to the species level. This course includes lecture and laboratory sessions designed to enhance the Environmental Health Specialist’s response to La Crosse Encephalitis and other mosquito-borne diseases. Equipment and supplies will be provided. Enrollment is limited.
