Calendar & Courses

PROGRAM CALENDAR     Program Schedule (WORD)

The incoming dietetic internship class will begin early July 2013 with a second session class and then follow the academic calendar for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014. Supervised practicums are 40 hour weeks. The length of the dietetic internship is two academic semesters. Additional time may be required for rotation preparation and to complete assignments.

Vacation
During the Dietetic Internship interns are provided with three weeks of vacation. Vacation will occur the last week of December, the first week of January, and a week between the second and third practicums. At the beginning of the program, the Dietetic Internship Director informs interns of the scheduled weeks of vacation.

Holidays
The intern is entitled to the following holidays, most to be observed on the actual day in which the holiday falls: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day following Thanksgiving. Interns might be assigned to work no more than one holiday. If so, the intern will be scheduled off on another day. The alternate holiday will be scheduled within thirty days of the missed actual holiday. The Dietetic Internship Director will inform the intern if he/she is scheduled to work the observed holiday.

DI COURSES

The Dietetic Internship currently provides 12 credits of graduate coursework comprised of three eight-week (40 hours per week) practicum courses (administrative, clinical, and community dietetics).
