Dr. Shapiro and graduate student (2002)Whether you’re interested in a career in academics or in health services, you'll find our programs valuable. And whether you’re an undergraduate student seeking a pre-professional degree or a graduate student seeking your master’s degree so you can become a professional speech-language pathologist, we can help you.

Our faculty members, many of whom have been or still are professional clinicians, have a wealth of practical experience and they’re excited to share their wisdom with you. They're also dedicated researchers who conduct their studies in order to better understand communication sciences and disorders and to expand knowledge in the field.

In addition to your classroom education, you’ll receive hands-on training in the Speech and Hearing Clinic, an important part of the department that provides a valuable health service to the community. You may also choose to get involved in WCU's National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) chapter, which will further augment your studies and understanding of the field.

If you’re interested in pursuing a degree that will enable you to help others, come join us. To learn more, peruse our website to see if you think our program is a good fit for you, review our curriculum, read more about the department, catch up on our news and announcements, and feel free to contact us with your questions.

We look forward to meeting you.
