Early Music Ensemble is an auditioned group of sixteen singers. A cappella style from the Elizabethan era is the mainstay of their repertoire. The main performance each fall is to present the annual Madrigal Christmas Dinner in full Renaissance costume. All music and dialogue is done from memory. Complete with jester, lord and lady, trumpet fanfares, and strolling minstrels, this production has been a highlight of the Christmas season in Cullowhee since 1970.
Because the Early Music Ensemble tours annually with the Concert Choir each Fall semester, students who participate in Early Music Ensemble must sing in the Concert Choir as well.
Auditions are held during the first three days of each semester. Sign up for an audition time on the sheet posted outside Dr. Lancaster's office, CO 466.
