The School of Art and Design understands the importance of choice in your life, especially concerning your education. The B.F.A. will lead you to a career or graduate study in art, design and related disciplines.
Program areas —ceramics, painting and drawing, photography, print and book arts, and sculpture—allow you to explore a specific area of study while following a rigorous curriculum.
After becoming admitted to WCU, those students who pursue graphic design must apply
for entrance into the program by submitting a portfolio of digital images and a letter
of application that describes their goals and interests in the field. Students may
do this either as entering first year students or as first-semester sophomores.
The M.F.A. is a 60-hour terminal degree program offering the highest level of instruction in the visual arts. At its core is the relationship between you, the emerging artist, and the experience of professional faculty. You’ll benefit from these internationally respected artists and critics who challenge your ideas and provoke their individual visions. Each year, the program presents M.F.A. thesis exhibitions in various galleries.
